Kitchen / Bath Remodels (some of the projects... please scroll down)

BEFORE

Project in San Jose :  "Japanese Elegance"
The existing nook space was restricted by the peninsula on one side & wall between the nook & Family. The client wanted a more open space around the nook for large family gatherings, and a better flow of the kitchen.
By eliminating the peninsula and the wall to Family room, the nook space opened up. Bar/buffet cabinets extending beyond the kitchen make the kitchen feel larger. Custom Slatted cabinetry & other material selections were done in the Japanese style. Two chandeliers in Japanese hand-made paper & Silver-leaf finish make a bold statement in the interior.

Project in Mountain View:  "Kitchen for Techies"
The existing kitchen was closed off, dark, lacked counter space & did not reflect the lifestyle of this Young couple in the Hi-tech industry.
The wall between the kitchen & Family was opened up. New skylight, bigger windows & white cabinets transformed the dark kitchen into  light & airy space. Most of the usable storage was planned lower for the short-heighted wife, & the non-accessible top of wall cabinets was converted into a beautiful display area. The space for media cabinet was converted into a Built-in seating, which became an extension of the kitchen cabinets.

Project in San Jose
Few walls were removed to make an Open-plan kitchen with "Double-islands" at angles which set the perfect environment for entertaining! Special features, like "pop-up" outlets, "operable skylight" and "magic-corner" and a "desk area" were used. Also, the client is happy to have her much asked for "bay window-seat", which we've heard she never leaves now!

Project in Los Altos
Angular addition of Open-plan kitchen and Great room, with addition of "double-coffers" in the ceiling has expanded the overall volume of the space substantially! Angular layout makes the kitchen visually dynamic. Symmetrically balanced wine-bar & desk area accentuate the tall refrigerator section. Cooktop on island allows the client to watch TV on opposite wall.

Project in San Jose
The original kitchen was short on counter space, especially next to the cooktop, where a tall pantry & double-oven cabinet existed. By closing off the door left of the refrigerator, and moving the pantry next to it, the kitchen has now not only opened visually, but countertop next to the cookop is extended all the way through. With a little "space-planning" this kitchen has gained at least 50% more counter space & 20% more storage than before, all staying within the same footprint!

Project in Los Altos
The existing hall bathrom & hallway spaces were reconfigured to create a new Hall Bathroom, a powder room, and a hallway that better connects all the bedrooms now. A horizontal accent band helps to visually expand this new bathroom, and the long shampoo niche is the focal point in the shower.

Project in Santa Clara
This Master bathroom was part of the Master bedroom suite addition project, which needed to follow the principles of Feng-Shui. Material choices in light colors gave the"light & airy" feel to this bathroom, that the clients were looking for.

Project in Cupertino
This new bathroom was part of the Family room/Study & a bathroom addition project. Placement of this bathoom was for dual purpose, so it could be accessed from the pool side as well. The seat in the shower helps for a more "relaxing" bath!

Project in Los Altos
The existing hall bathrom & hallway spaces were reconfigured to create a new Hall Bathroom, a powder room, and a hallway that better connects all the bedrooms now. The clients wanted the new Powder room to be a "statement", which was achieved with "bold-expressive" lines of this furniture-styled vanity, matching mirror, artistic faucet and a contemporary  pedestal sink.
